As a mother and an avid photographer, I was usually on the other end of the camera. As a result, there are few photos of just Tommy and me, or of me and my oldest son, Jay. Don't get me wrong, I have wonderful images of Tommy, Jay, Ary and India, together as a family, with friends, even with strangers --- but it makes me sad that I don't have more one on one photos. When my 2nd husband and I were married in 2001, the photographer asked if he wanted a photograph taken with his two daughters. He said yes. When I was asked if I wanted a photograph taken of my two sons and me, I said naw. Didn't want to interrupt everyone to make the image happen. I regret that decision.
